One firm, both trades
A lot of jobs need a gas engineer and an electrician. Moving a boiler, fitting a heat pump, wiring a new thermostat, adding underfloor heating. Getting two firms to turn up in the right order is somebody’s whole afternoon on the phone.
We are Gas Safe registered and NAPIT registered, so it is one visit, one invoice and one person to ring if something is not right afterwards.
NAPIT registration also means we self certify and notify Building Control on the work that needs it. You get the certificate, and nothing lands on your solicitor’s desk in three years’ time when you come to sell.
What we do
Four things people ring us about
Certificates, and who tells the council
It means we are assessed against the wiring regulations, and that we can self certify notifiable work and register it with Building Control ourselves. Without that, you are paying the council to inspect it, or you are getting work that was never notified. The number is 52265 and you can look it up.
Yes, for anything that needs one. An EICR gets a full report. Installation work gets an electrical installation certificate. Both go to you, not filed somewhere on our system.
For most notifiable jobs we do it for you. That is the part people do not realise they are missing until they sell the house.
Where we work
Across North Dorset and over the border
Same coverage as the heating side. Based in Gillingham, most work within eight miles, and we also cover Mere, Sturminster Newton, Frome, Blandford Forum, Warminster and the villages between.
