Most heating firms round here do gas. We are Gas Safe registered for gas and LPG, and OFTEC registered for oil, so we can take on a village cottage on an oil tank and a new build on a combi in the same week.
That matters more here than it would in a city. Plenty of the villages around Gillingham, Shaftesbury and Wincanton never got mains gas, and finding somebody who covers both is the reason a lot of people ring us.

Working out what you actually need
Depends on the age and what has failed. Under about eight years old and it is usually worth repairing. Older than that, and if the part is expensive, you are often putting good money into a boiler that will fail again. We will tell you which one yours is, and we will say repair when it is repair. Quoting you for a new boiler is the easy answer, not the honest one.
A service is for you, and it keeps the manufacturer warranty valid. A certificate is a legal requirement if you let the property out. They are different jobs, though we do both in one visit and charge less than the two separately.
Oil, LPG or a heat pump. We fit and service all three. Oil is the most common answer round here and usually the cheapest to run of the three if you already have a tank.
