Why Matt started it
Matt spent seventeen years at British Gas. He is good at the work and he liked the customers, but a big firm can only ever give you so much of itself.
So in 2017 he started Home Heroes, to do the same work with the time to do it properly. Owen joined and has been on the tools five years. Between Matt and Owen there is thirty years of experience in the van.
Plenty of firms call themselves small. Here it is two engineers, and it shows up in small ways. The same faces every time, a phone answered by somebody who knows the job, and if we say we will ring you back, we ring you back.
The work splits two ways: boilers and heating, which is most of it and which both of us cover, and electrical, which Matt is qualified for. Either way it is us doing it, not a subcontractor.

What we do not do
We are not a big firm and we do not pretend to be. Three of us means we cannot be everywhere, and there are weeks when the diary is full.

Not our trade
Commercial work, bathrooms, and general plumbing. We used to take more of it on and we were never the best people for it.
There are firms locally who do those properly, and we would rather point you at one.
