Off the gas grid is normal round here
Gillingham and Shaftesbury are mostly on mains gas. Get out into the villages and a great deal of it is not, which is why so many houses round here run on oil.
That is also why we hold OFTEC registration as well as Gas Safe. A lot of firms locally only do gas, so if you are on oil you end up ringing round. We do both, and we do LPG as well.
What we do: new oil boiler installation, servicing, repairs and fault finding, tank replacement and relocation, upgrading old tanks to bunded, and converting from oil to a heat pump where it makes sense.
If your tank is single skin, it is worth a conversation
Older single skin steel tanks rust from the inside out, and you generally find out when the oil is on the ground. A bunded tank has a second skin to catch a leak before it becomes your problem.
Replacing a tank is not usually urgent, but it is a lot cheaper than a spill. We will tell you honestly how long yours has left.
